Microsoft announced that it will be offering an extended service plan for Zune users. The service plan will be offered to Zune owners in the US and in Canada and will be compatible with the Zune 4 or 8 and Zune 30 and 8. The plan costs $59.95 and can be added within the first year after purchasing a new Zune. The plan gives you a total of two years of coverage, piece of mind for those who usually take advantage of extended service plans. I’ve always cheapened out and never took advantage of these plans, but after a few iPods that have gone bad after the warranty was up I’ll be sure to eye these warranties a little more closely.
