The undying Zune Phone rumors arises again

It just seems that these Zune phone rumors will not simply die. Initially, the rumors were that Microsoft would introduce the Zune Phone at the Consumer Electronics Show on January 7. Then the rumors were squashed a few days later when the group manager of Zune confirmed that there would be “No Zune Phone at CES”. Now the word on the streets is that Microsoft is set to develop their first phone with the Zune team set to making the user interface for the phone. According to CNET’s Matt Hickey, ” it is not likely to be called anything to do with Zune, although it might have some Zune functions”. According to the report, some member of Zune‘s user interface team will be moving to the Windows Mobile group to work on the new user interface for the phone. Apparently, Microsoft wants their mobile phone to directly compete with the Apple iPhone and that they are not satisfied with any of the Windows Mobile UI. That is why they are asking for more input from the Zune team. Again this is all just speculation. There is no official word from Microsoft as of yet. Please stay tuned as these rumors just won’t simply go away.
