A Zune user over at Got Zune? has reported that his Zune Original has a variety of problems, which he believes is attributed to the process of removing the backplate to do the laser engraving for the Originals Signature.

The main problems which he has found are a single dead pixel on the screen, a cracked frontplate support tab inside the case, and scratches on the access hatch. Take a look right here:

Take this as a lesson that not all things are under strict quality control. Make sure to inspect your Zune for damages before your warranty runs out, so you can get a replacement!
